At Feral Feline Project, our belief is that every cat has a right to live, regardless if it is feral or domesticated.
Feral Feline Project specializes in Trap Neuter and Return (TNR) of feral (wild) or stray, outdoor cats. Our efforts focus on humanely reducing outdoor and abandoned cats living in Northern Cook County, IL.
Cats are humanely trapped and taken to the veterinarian clinic to receive a 1-year rabies & distemper vaccine, application of Frontline Plus (treatment for fleas & ticks), microchipped and are spayed/neutered. The cats receive an examination, treatment for illnesses or minor wounds and are ear tipped.
They are returned back to their familiar habitat and are cared for and monitored by their caretaker. This process immediately halts the births of feral kittens, improves the overall health of the cats and stabilizes the colony.
If you would like to take part in the humane solution, please download the Caretaker's Application from the left and mail or fax it to us. Please email or call us if you have any questions. Someone will contact you shortly to set up an appointment.
We have a Petfinder.com account!
There is a good chance that not every single cat in a colony is feral. We have many pet cats that join colonies after getting lost or abandoned. If you have a friendly cat in your colony and are interested in fostering it yourself, we can help the adoption process by posting the cat or kitten on our Petfinder.com account.
